Júlio Resende

Júlio Resende started playing piano when he was four years old. After in the Conservatory, then began his studies in 2000 with Jazz Zé Eduardo. Studied with Rodrigo Gonçalves , Pedro Moreira and Mario laginha . In 2003 he was selected to the 1st National Youth Big Band. He finished the course at the School of Hot Club and integrated the respective Ensemble. Participated in several international workshops with teachers from prestigious U.S Jazz Universities. In 2004 he moved to Paris, where he studied with Yves Torchinsky , Philippe Michel , Frédéric Saffar and Lillian Deric , and played in several formations.

He recorded his first album in 2007 for the Clean Feed, well-referenced " Júlio Resende - Of The Soul ", becoming the youngest national musician to edit a disc for the label as a leader. He has played with musicians such as Perico Sambeat , John Hebert , Masa Kamaguchi , Carlos Bica , Bruno Pedroso , Carlos Barretto , André Fernandes , João Paulo Esteves da Silva and Mario laginha , among others .

In 2008, John Paul Esteves da Silva , created the " Happennig " project.

Taught the course of the Piano Jazz School JBJazz in Lisbon in 2006/2007 , and in several Jazz' Workshops . Finished the University of Aveiro in Music - Performance, with a thesis on improvisation.
