Mauro Ribeiro, musician, composer and pedagogue, develops a distinct musical language that ranges from jazz to rock, through gipsy, among others. With numerous national stages in his luggage, he is looking for a promising future with many sounds to share.

Born in Condeixa-a-nova, Mauro Ribeiro began his musical studies at the age of 8 with teacher João Paulo Devesa, entering the classical guitar course at the Coimbra Conservatory of Music at the age of 11.

When he attended a jazz workshop, taught by guitarist Luis Lapa, he showed a special taste for the style. It was there that, in addition to the ensemble classes at the Conservatory given by Professor Daniel Romeiro, he began to attend classes with João Paulo Vieira and Serafim Lopes. Later, he went to study at the Hot Club of Portugal with Vasco Agostinho, Bruno Santos, Vasco Mendonça, Eng. Bernardo Moreira, among others.

He participated in workshops with the "Trio Azul" (Carlos Bica, Frank Mobus and Jim Black), Mário Delgado, Federico Casagrande, Stefano Senni, among others. In addition to teaching Jazz Guitar, Harmony and Combo in the jazz course of the Sítio de Sons school in Coimbra, he shared the position of pedagogical direction of the school.

After two years of lessons with Jeffery Davis he entered the Music Degree in Jazz Guitar at the University of Évora where he studied with Mário Delgado, José Menezes, Filipe Melo, Juan Galiardo, Johannes Krieger, Christopher Bochmann, among others.

In 2011 he represented the University of Évora in the 9th edition of the Jazz Festival of S. Luiz. Since 2012 he has been teaching Jazz Guitar and also subjects such as Improvisation Techniques, Combo, Music Theory and Analysis and Rhythm Section in the Professional Course of Jazz Instrumentalist of the Artistic School of the Conservatory of Music of Coimbra.

In 2019 he completed the Master's Degree in Music Teaching at the University of Aveiro where he had instrument classes with Miguel Amado, Mário Delgado and Bruno Pedroso.

He is part of some projects such as Vértice Trio, Inquiet'Ensemble, Dixie Gringos Jazz Band, being present at Festivals such as Bons Sons, Noites Ritual, Jazz Festivals of Loulé, Tomar, Águeda, Mealhada, Barcelos, and in emblematic rooms such as Hot Clube de Portugal, Convento São Francisco, Theatro Circo de Braga, among others.
