Sebastián Scheriff

Sebastián Scheriff is a professional musician in the field of percussion, born in Argentina, born in the year 1967.

Since 1999, Scheriff works with different artists and in various quality projects, allying himself with different styles—light music, pop music, Brazilian music, world music, jazz, Latin jazz, flamenco, African music, dance music, electronic, fado, Portuguese music …)

He has worked as a teacher at Escola Superior de Dança in Lisbon and has taught percussion at JB Jazz school in Lisbon and at Escola Improviso in Oeiras and at Musical Center in Cascais, beyond the private classes he also organizes and teaches percussion workshops and masterclasses. In the year 2012, he graduated in Music, at Lisbon Superior School of Music, in the variant of jazz. He became a master in the year 2014, studying Music Education at the New University of Lisbon, currently, he's taking a doctorate in Music Education and Psychology at the same university (FCSH).

The percussionist already counts with a number of participations in countless projects, like Ciganos de Ouro, with Marco Quelha, Xico Zé, Sons do Tejo, ADUF or even with Luís Repressas or Carmenn Souza, this being his most recent participation — an album dedicated to the American pianist Horace Silver, entitled The Silver Messengers, in the year 2019.
